Ghost World
Ghost World
Enid (Thora Birch), a sarcastic and disillusioned teenager, has just graduated from high school and is unsure about her future. She spends her days aimlessly criticizing the world around her with her best friend Rebecca (Scarlett Johansson), but their friendship begins to fray as Enid rejects the conventional path of college and work. Enid’s life takes a turn when she meets Seymour (Steve Buscemi), a lonely middle-aged man obsessed with collecting old records. The film, based on Daniel Clowes’ graphic novel, explores themes of alienation, post-adolescence, and the difficulty of finding purpose in an often absurd world. Its distinct visual style, witty dialogue, and dark humor made it an enduring cult classic.
