The Man Who Fell to Earth

Unread post by wixpaud »

David Bowie stars as Thomas Jerome Newton, an alien who comes to Earth to save his home planet. He assumes human form and, with his advanced technology, starts a business empire to fund his mission. However, as he becomes more immersed in human culture, he is corrupted by greed, addiction, and his interactions with humans. The film, directed by Nicolas Roeg, is a surreal and often disorienting exploration of alienation, identity, and the destructive power of humanity. The story unfolds in a fragmented, non-linear way, with moments of stark eroticism, violence, and surrealism. The film’s chilling atmosphere, combined with Bowie’s magnetic performance, makes it a challenging, but deeply influential, sci-fi classic.
