I Want To Talk Movie

Abhishek Bachchan stars as Arjun Sen, a Bengali NRI living in the U.S., whose life is upended by a cancer diagnosis during a divorce. The story, inspired by a real cancer survivor, follows his journey of resilience, humor, and fatherhood. Despite being given 100 days to live, Arjun survives multiple surgeries, forms meaningful relationships, and even completes a marathon, embracing life on his terms.

The film explores Arjun's bond with his daughter Reya, played by Pearle Dey (as a child) and Ahilya Bamroo (as a teen), with heartfelt performances from both. Their confrontations and eventual closure form the emotional core of the story. Abhishek delivers a raw, unglamorous performance, embracing his character’s struggles and quirks with sincerity.

Director Shoojit Sircar employs subtle, situational humor rather than dramatic highs. The film avoids clichés, focusing on life’s unpredictability and quiet moments. Jayant Kriplani shines as Arjun’s dry-humored doctor, and Kristin Goddard adds depth as a nurse with a personal connection to Arjun.

Visually, Avik Mukhopadhyay’s cinematography captures serene moments beautifully, complemented by impressive makeup and prosthetics. However, the story has gaps: Arjun’s estranged wife is absent, and his financial stability despite mounting medical bills remains unexplained.

While not a perfect film, it’s a heartfelt celebration of resilience and life’s unpredictability. Watch it for its authentic performances and the quiet strength of its message.
