Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas

Unread post by wixpaud »

Based on Hunter S. Thompson’s 1971 novel, Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas follows the insane, drug-fueled road trip of journalist Raoul Duke (Johnny Depp) and his attorney Dr. Gonzo (Benicio Del Toro) as they travel to Las Vegas to cover a political event. The film, directed by Terry Gilliam, captures the madness and hallucinations of the pair's journey as they indulge in a variety of mind-altering substances. The movie is a visually chaotic, often grotesque ride that explores themes of disillusionment, the death of the American Dream, and the counterculture of the 1960s and 70s. Its surreal style and dark humor make it both a difficult watch and a cult favorite.
