Exclusive: Clinical Trials To Assess Health Benefits Of Ricky Kej's Grammy-Nominated Album Break of Dawn
Ricky Kej, a three-time Grammy winner, has been nominated for the 67th Grammy Awards in the Best New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album category for his album *Break of Dawn*. Known for raising environmental awareness through his music, Kej's latest work shifts focus to mental wellness and the link between inner peace and the surrounding environment. In an interview with NDTV, Kej shared the inspiration behind *Break of Dawn* and discussed its potential health benefits. He is collaborating with Stanford Global Health and the Stanford School of Bio Design on clinical trials to explore how the album could positively impact health. Kej hopes that in the future, doctors might prescribe *Break of Dawn* similarly to how they recommend therapies or medications. Stanford has acknowledged the album as Indian-rooted wellness music that could help with global mental health issues.
Kej also shared an insight from 2015 when he watched a Hindu-Buddhist event, Samwad, where Prime Minister Modi quoted that environmental pollution reflects the mind's impurities. This idea resonated with Kej and drew him to the belief that purifying the mind is essential for improving the environment, aligning with ancient Indian and Buddhist philosophies.
