Grammys 2025: Ricky Kej, Anoushka Shankar, Varijashree Venugopal Among 5 Indian Nominees

The nominations for the 67th Grammy Awards were announced, highlighting a mix of familiar and new Indian and Indian-origin talents. Among the artists recognized this year are Ricky Kej, Anoushka Shankar, Varijashree Venugopal, Radhika Vekaria, and Chandrika Tandon.

Ricky Kej, a three-time Grammy winner, earned a nomination for his album *Break of Dawn* in the Best New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album category. Joining him in this category are Anoushka Shankar's *Chapter II: How Dark It Is Before Dawn*, Radhika Vekaria’s *Warriors of Light*, and Chandrika Tandon's *Triveni*, a collaboration with flautist Wouter Kellerman and cellist Eru Matsumoto.

Anoushka Shankar received a second nomination for her collaboration with British multi-instrumentalist Jacob Collier on the song *A Rock Somewhere*, which is nominated for Best Global Music Performance. The track also features Varijashree Venugopal, a Bengaluru-based vocalist and composer, who earned her first Grammy nomination. Venugopal also contributed to Ricky Kej's *Break of Dawn*.

Ricky Kej’s Grammy wins include his first in 2015 for *Winds of Samsara* (with Wouter Kellerman), a second in 2022 for *Divine Tides* (with Stewart Copeland), and his third in 2023 for the immersive audio version of *Divine Tides*, which won Best Immersive Audio Album.
