**Review Summary: *Liger***
*Liger* marks South superstar Vijay Deverakonda’s much-anticipated Bollywood debut, but unfortunately, it falls short of expectations. The film follows Liger, a talented MMA fighter navigating personal challenges, a complicated love story, and a bizarre final act involving Mike Tyson.
Vijay Deverakonda shines in his role, showcasing remarkable physical transformation and delivering convincing action scenes that highlight his dedication. The fight choreography, whether in the ring, gym, or against Mike Tyson, is the film’s strongest aspect, offering well-crafted and thrilling sequences. However, the story suffers from an inconsistent tone, a convoluted narrative, and underwhelming writing, particularly around the romantic subplot with Ananya Panday, whose character feels forced and lacks depth.
Ramya Krishnan stands out as the fiery, determined mother, and Ronit Roy does his best as the gruff MMA coach. However, even their strong performances can’t rescue the film from its patchy execution and weak screenplay. By the time the chaotic climax rolls around, featuring an inexplicable turn of events involving Tyson, the story loses its grip entirely.
**Verdict**: Despite Vijay Deverakonda’s star power and solid action sequences, *Liger* squanders its potential, leaving audiences disappointed. A missed opportunity for an actor of his caliber.
