Deepak Dobriyal shares that he approaches his roles from a deeply personal place, drawing inspiration from within rather than mimicking others. For his role in *Sector 36*, where he was initially confused about being offered the role of a cop (which was ultimately played by him, instead of the character of Prem, played by Vikrant Massey), he faced a unique challenge: portraying a believable police officer in a genre traditionally dominated by action stars like Dharmendra, Salman Khan, and Ajay Devgn. He was keen not to repeat what had already been done and focused on bringing his own vision to the role.

He notes that, even though he shares great chemistry with his co-star Vikrant Massey, the true connection between actors comes from a shared dedication to their craft, rather than a personal bond. Their chemistry developed gradually, especially during their intense interrogation scenes. The scene is a highlight of the film, where Vikrant Massey’s character delivers a gripping monologue about his killings. Deepak explains that this moment triggered a whirlwind of emotions, and instead of expressing them through dialogue, he had to rely on his expressions. He conveys a mix of anger, helplessness, and a struggle to process the revelations of the character’s crimes.

Interestingly, Deepak admits that he didn’t prepare in a traditional sense for this role. He simply expressed his raw emotions in the moment, and he credits the success of the scene to the film’s writer and the director of photography, Saurabh, rather than his own preparations. He confesses that if asked to redo the scene, he might not be able to replicate the exact emotions, which speaks to the spontaneity and raw authenticity he brought to the performance.
