*OMG 2* (2023) is a social comedy-drama that tackles an important and often taboo subject: sex education in schools. The story follows Kanti Sharan Mudgal (Pankaj Tripathi), a devout follower of Lord Shiva, whose son Vivek (Aarush Varma) is unfairly expelled from school after being accused of misconduct. Upon investigating, Kanti discovers that his son was a victim of misinformation and lack of guidance, particularly around his sexual awakening. Kanti, driven by his love for his son and his belief in the justice system, takes the matter to court, challenging the flawed educational system.

The film focuses on how the absence of sex education and proper understanding leads to confusion and even harmful actions. Vivek, dealing with insecurities about his body, turns to dangerous and unreliable sources in a desperate attempt to solve his problem. The film uses Kanti’s journey in court to raise awareness about the importance of addressing sexual health and education in schools. Guided by divine intervention in the form of a mysterious stranger (Akshay Kumar), who is revealed to be a messenger of Lord Shiva, Kanti uncovers historical references to sex education in ancient Indian texts, which challenges society's current approach to the subject.

While the film has comedic moments, it handles the issue of sex education with seriousness and sensitivity. It argues that society’s reluctance to address sexual health openly has led to confusion and shame, which affects the emotional and psychological well-being of young people. Kanti questions why sex education is still a taboo, pointing out the inconsistencies in how sex is treated in textbooks, media, and conversations. The film advocates for progressive parenting and understanding, making it clear that sexual curiosity and exploration are natural parts of growing up.

Pankaj Tripathi delivers a stellar performance as the loving and determined father, Kanti. His portrayal brings warmth and humor to the film while conveying deep concern for his son's well-being. Akshay Kumar, though not as prominent as in the first film, brings a touch of divine wisdom to his character and adds depth to Kanti’s journey. Yami Gautam plays Kamini, the defense lawyer, embodying the rigid, conservative mindset that Kanti challenges. Pavan Malhotra also shines in his role as the open-minded judge who is won over by Kanti’s arguments.

*OMG 2* succeeds in delivering a strong social message about the importance of addressing sexual health openly in schools. While it may face challenges in reaching its target teenage audience due to its A certification, the film stands out for its honest portrayal of a serious issue, balanced with light-hearted humor and strong performances. Watch the film for its relevant message and the powerful performances by the cast.
